Intego, a well-known Mac-focused security firm, is running a special March Madness sale on many of its Mac security programs, including NetBarrier X5, Personal Backup X5 and ContentBarrier X5. Unfortunately, VirusBarrier X5, the company's flagship software, is not included with the sale.

“From March 19 to 31, 2009, and only from the Intego web site, a number of Intego’s single-user programs will be on sale at the incredible price of $19 each (€19, £19 or ¥1919; applicable currency depends on the location of the purchaser),” the company states on the official Intego web site. According to the security firm, customers picking up on the offer save up to 60 percent in security software value. Mac users can purchase single-user copies of Intego programs, including:

NetBarrier X5: Protects your Mac from Internet attacks Personal Antispam X5: Keeps your inbox spam-free Personal Backup X5: Meets all your backup needs FileGuard X5: Safeguards your confidential files ContentBarrier X5: Makes the Internet a safe place for your kids.”

As Intego indicates, interested parties can only acquire the discounted software from Intego's web site (www.intego.com) from March 19 through March 31, 2009. The offer doesn't extend to retail stores, or any vendors other than Intego, according to the announcement. Also note that Intego will not refund, or exchange your software upon purchase. The offer cannot be combined with any other special offer and is limited to one copy of each program per purchaser, for individual users only, the company adds.

For those who aren't very familiar with Intego, the security firm develops and sells desktop and server security and privacy software for Macintosh, while providing “the widest range of software to protect users and their Macs from the dangers of the Internet,” the security firm claims. “Intego's multilingual software repeatedly receives awards from Mac magazines, and protects more than one million users in over 60 countries,” says the company headquartered in the USA, France and Japan.
