Prince has nothing but love for Whitney Houston and recent reports of his banning her from his live shows because of “erratic behavior” are just rumors. A rep for the singer has issued a statement setting the record straight on the so-called ban.

For the past couple of days, rumors have been saying that Whitney, who is now seeking help for her alcohol and drug problems in an out-patient rehab, got herself banned from Prince’s shows.

That’s not true, a rep for Prince says in a statement cited by AceShowbiz.

“Whitney Houston is always welcome at Prince shows 4 all of eternity,” says the spokesperson, thus putting to rest for good rumors that Prince wouldn’t allow Whitney in to see him in concert anymore.

“Seeing her at 2 shows at The Forum in L.A. was a treat, especially when she sang with Chaka Khan and danced with Prince during his set. We love her always,” the rep adds.

TMZ, the same media outlet to break the story thanks to well-placed sources in the Prince camp, is now saying that the ban did exist, but it didn’t come from Prince as initially believed.

In other words, someone else from his management did not like to see Houston at his concerts so they banned her. But they did so without first talking to Prince about it.

“Someone could have taken it upon themselves to say Whitney was banned... but it did not come from Prince,” says an insider.

“Whoever decided Whitney was banned did not have the authority to do so,” adds the spy.

As noted above, the diva is now receiving help for her past issues with addiction as an out-patient at an unnamed rehab facility.

When word got out that she was no longer allowed at Prince’s concerts, it was said that her “erratic behavior” might have been the result of drug or alcohol use, even though there was no concrete evidence to back up such a claim.
