No words on the release details yet

Great news for those waiting to get their hands on a strong "iPhone killer". Meizu M8 MiniOne has started to accept pre-orders, although producers are still keeping a low ground on the official release date and on the price that it will come at.

The Chinese developers behind Meizu M8 MiniOne have taken their time with the developing of this iPhone alternative phone. They have redesigned it, improved it and still haven't made up their minds on whether to release it or not. It's great to see that they are putting so much thought in the developing of this mobile phone, although the best time to release it would be as soon as possible, while its specifications are still top of the line.

Meizu M8 MiniOne uses an ARM11 533MHZ processor and runs on Windows CE 6 operating system. At 105 x 57 x 11.5 mm, the smartphone proves to be one of the slimmest out there, although it might have a squashed look, due to its width and length. The 3.3 inch TFT screen is capable of an impressive resolution of 720 x 480 pixels, excellent for best quality video viewing.

The 3 megapixel camera is supposed to be capable of providing really good captures, better than those of the iPhone, in any case. There is also a secondary VGA camera meant to make it possible for the user to place video calls, one feature that Apple's phone lacks. Other specifications also include a built-in memory of 4GB/ 8GB and support for a large number of media files. Moreover, connectivity is available through Bluetooth, USB and Wi-Fi too.

That's all nice and dandy, but the price is shocking at this time. The pre-order at Negri Electronics is of USD 788, much higher than that of the iPhone, especially now that its price has dropped with USD 200, down to USD 400. The actual price will be set to the end of the year, with the promise of a balance refund when the Meizu M8 MiniOne is shipped.
