THQ is getting ready to debut its new Homefront first-person shooter next month so, in order to really raise more awareness around it, has announced a new promotion that will take place on Valve's Steam digital distribution service.

Homefront is getting all sorts of details these days, from its sensitive story, in which a united Korea invades the USA and subjugates its population, to the multiplayer mode which will use THQ's Online Pass system to prevent people from buying the game used .

Now, after announcing that the downloadable content for Homefront will be released as a timed exclusive for the Xbox 360, THQ is turning its head towards the PC platform, and revealed a new deal exclusive to the Steam digital distribution service.

For those who pre-purchase Homefront right now, THQ is offering a free copy of its gritty Metro 2033 first-person shooter, which was released last year.

If you already own Metro 2033, then you'll be able to offer the copy to a friend on Steam as a gift.

What's more, those who pre-purchase on Steam are also going to get a powerful unlockable item for the multiplayer mode, the Air Assault Drone, which they'll be able to use right when the game is launched.

If you want to play Homefront on the PC, Steam is definitely the way to go, as Kaos Studios, the company behind the title, unveiled at the beginning of the month some of the features included in the version, like Steamworks support or Valve's Anti-Cheat system for online multiplayer.

Also, if you have a capable computer, you'll be able to enjoy Homefront in full stereoscopic 3D, as the title has support for Nvidia's 3D Vision.

Homefront is one of the few all-new intellectual properties that will be launched this year, and arrives on March 15 for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.
