It seems that, while appealing, pre-ordering a certain tablet might not be the best idea in the world right now because of certain issues with the payment options and the lack of a hardware demonstration.

Android tablets have become something of a potential game changer on the still small slate market, so many end-users are understandably eager to get one.

As such, when Notion Ink started to accept pre-orders for the Adam Tablet it was known to be working on for months, consumers were obviously intrigued.

Unfortunately, there are some elements that put some people off, at least for now, most of them related to lack of information on the product itself.

The main issue is that Notion Ink hasn't provided an actual demonstration of the device, not to mention that even the FCC hasn't issued a filing for Adam.

Of course, the company itself did say there is nothing to worry about and that the Tegra 2-based Android slate is quite capable.

“The way we look at Eden, its closer to the Honeycomb than to the Gingerbread, and we were really happy to do those changes for you in time. So when you look at Adam in your hands you will not feel under-powered by a Mobile OS,” said Notion Ink, Rohan Shravan, when pre-orders became possible.

Fortunately, the outfit decided to respond to concerns by saying that the Federal Communications Commission has not yet given approval, but that the filing is expected to be delivered in late December.

Notion Ink also said that MasterCard's long application process is the main culprit behind the lack of payment options.

Indian firm CCAvenue also appears to be having difficulties with server time-outs and problems with declined payments from US customers.

Basically, Notion Ink recognizes the problems and has nothing against consumers delaying their orders. On the other hand, it did say that a demonstration video of Adam will be shown on December 18. Meanwhile, those wishing for another look at the specs can go here.
