Activision has just kicked off a very special Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 pre-order deal for PC owners who pre-purchase the game on various digital distribution outlets, offering them the older Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for free.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is eagerly awaited by legions of shooter fans, even if its almost certainly massive sales are threatened a big by Electronic Arts and its own Battlefield 3 first person shooter.
Now, probably because it's feeling a bit of heat from EA, Activision has kicked off a special pre-order incentive, which offers those who get Modern Warfare 3 on the PC through digital distribution services a free copy of the first Modern Warfare game.
"Maybe you came to Modern Warfare late," Activision community manager Dan Amrich wrote on his blog. "Maybe the phenomenon of Modern Warfare 2 was your first foray into the Call of Duty franchise, and you didn’t actually go back to play the first game in the series. Well, if you’re a PC gamer, here’s a nice perk: If you pre-order Modern Warfare 3 for PC as a digital download now, you get Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for free."
As such, PC owners who pre-purchase the new Call of Duty title on services like Steam, Direct2Drive or GameStop (formerly known as Impulse), not to mention Activision's own digital store, will get Call of Duty 4 absolutely free.
The offer is available across the world, including North America, Europe or Australia, and other, smaller digital distribution services might also offer such a great pre-order deal.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is set to deliver a brand new single-player experience, taking players all around the globe in massive conflicts, a new cooperative-only Spec Ops mode filled with levels designed for two players to go through, not to mention an overhauled multiplayer mode with new killstreaks and mechanics.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is out on November 8, for the PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii.
