Fanatec has managed to become, over the past couple of years, a household name in the gaming controllers' segment, launching a large number of advanced, realistic products for driving simulators, and that's exactly the type of device we'll talk about as follows, namely their Porsche 911 GT2 Wheel. The device works with all major gaming platforms out there (Xbox 360, PC, PlayStation 3), providing a wireless connection to the Xbox 360 and coming with an USB cable to connect to PC and PS3.

What really makes the gaming accessory from Fanatec stand out is the authentic metal Porsche logo on wheel, while the wheel rim is wrapped in genuine Alcantara from Italy which is 100% the same material as used in the real cars.

Furthermore, the steering wheel has a large, 300 millimeters diameter, while the gear sticks are interchangeable and can be mounted on the left or right side.

The Fanatec device also sports tuning functions with LED display, being able to saves up to 5 wheel set-ups and lets users adjust ForceFeedback strength during game play, while they can also adjust sensitivity independent from the game.

The turning angle can be adjusted in the wheel to from 90° to 900°, while ABS vibration in the wheel and on the (optional) Clubsport pedals for all games can also be set.

Should they desire to do so, users will also be able to change the linearity in the steering axis to get the precision of a 900° wheel and the fast movement of a 270° wheel, as well as add some artificial Dead Zone to avoid shaking on straights if needed.

[MG=2]The Porsche 911 GT2 Wheel sports illuminated buttons that switch automatically between Xbox and PlayStation symbols, while the Mabuchi RS 550 Motor, the same used in certain RC cars, delivers extra strong Force Feedback effects.

Additional 2 Force Feedback actuators in the wheel simulates motor vibrations, while the extra smooth and silent belt drive with minimized mechanical dead zone.

Naturally, given the features it provides, not to mention the really impressive level of realism, it should come as no surprise that the Porsche 911 GT2 Wheel by Fanatec is not exactly a very affordable product, the controller selling for around 250 US dollars.
