"Parents don't see a need" for parental controls " because they are unaware of the porn capabilities." Porn Talk founder Mike Foster's statement comes shocking to say the least, in a press release entitled "The Wii's Dirty Little Secret." It is all to well known that Nintendo's console can be a very successful porn gateway but how come the parents aren't aware of that?

Mike Foster, founder of ThePornTalk rushes to give the answer: "Parents think the computer is the only way for their kids to get porn on the internet. Unfortunately, they are dead wrong. Gaming devices like the Wii and the PSP aren't just for fun games anymore. You're able to surf the net, chat with friends, email, and view porn because of its internet access. Kids know this but parents don't!"

Now, a faith-based site backed by a secretive ministry in California, is getting ready to make a move regarding Nintendo's Wii and other gaming devices, calling them "portals to porno." If this is true, the outcome could be pretty bad for Nintendo, regarding that religious groups always have a say. But still, why aren't the parents able to see what the kids are doing? Logging on the internet wirelessly with a Wi-Fi device like the Wii and Sony's PSP is already a common fact. "This makes it very difficult to monitor as a parent. You can easily put safeguards in your house but it's impossible to monitor in a Wi-Fi world," says Mike Foster.

It doesn't look like the Wii has a "little secret" anymore but rather a "big problem." Until the porn thing immersed, Nintendo's console was enjoying a good status on the gaming market and mostly because both kids and parents dig it. But if parents become frightened to get them for their offspring, that may be the end of Nintendo's good reputation.
