Online services are more and more important these days for many video game consoles, which have surpassed their role as a medium not only for games but also for entertainment and online interaction with friends and family.

One of the most interesting services is Sony's PlayStation Home, which wants to offer an online space where all PS3 owners can interact, make friends and play games together. The service is increasing in popularity as Sony and its partners are churning out new content every week.

Part of this week's update is a very special one, as all of the gamers who purchase Eidos' Batman: Arkham Asylum title will automatically unlock a special apartment for their Home avatar designed as Batman's famous Batcave, complete with a Batmobile and other trinkets that the Dark Knight uses in his fight against crime.

Also, a new game-themed event will unfold in Home, which will be centered on MotorStorm: Pacific Rift. It will include game launching parties, which will occur every Monday night between 6 PM and 10 PM PT. The new dedicated space will have its first ever “Globe of Death” published in Home and will be the central hub for any fans of the racing game. But even though it won't be permanent, other surprises regarding the franchise and Home will be revealed soon.

Another surprise for PlayStation Home users will be a new even dedicated to the TV series Criss Angel: Mindfreak. All you have to do is watch a new video for the TV series, which will be played in the new 10-screen movie theater, and you will get an exclusive virtual item in the form of a Criss Angel custom coffin table. But don't think that that will be the only thing given away, as a raffle will be made that will award Home users with two real-life coffins and three Criss Angel: Brun DVD and Book sets.

Last but not least, new updates are also scheduled for the EA Sports Complex and Burn Zombie Burn game space, meaning that things won't get boring anytime soon for Home owners. Other additions for the Central Plaza will also be included, so keep on exploring Home for new fun things to do.
