The newly renamed Metal Gear Rising might have disappointed some long term series fans with its new look and more action oriented gameplay but one leading developer working on it says that players should wait for more solid information before making up their minds on it.

Atsushi Inaba, who is the executive producer working at Platinum Games, messaged on Twitter that, “It seems there are some who wish to imply Platinum Games was able to achieve what Kojima Productions could not – interviewers among them.”

He added, “This notion is spurious. Clearly, we have not yet produced any results in the world of Metal Gear. The gap is immense. Mr. Kojima tossed his chips on our table, believing we could handle the task. In other words, he took a gamble.”

Inaba also said that fans of the core Metal Gear Series should wait and give the development team at Platinum Games a chance and see what they can create before choosing to criticize the upcoming game.

The developer says that the developers at Platinum Games are ready to deliver blood, sweat and tears in order to create a good game experience.

Platinum Games has first launch the MadWorld game for the Nintendo Wii, which failed to make an impression despite being billed as the first hardcore title for the platform.

The company then moved to develop for the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the PlayStation 3 from Sony, where it delivered Bayonetta, which was widely praised for its style, and Vanquish.

Now the company is working on Metal Gear Rising: Revengeace under the supervision of Kojima Productions, with the launch date set for the second part of 2012 on the same two devices.

The game will still focus on Raiden and his ninja cyborg form but seems much more action oriented, with little to no stealth included.
