It seems that Pioneer's quite on roll lately, since, after taking a quick look at the company's new speakers a few days ago, it's now about time to check out some of their other novelties, including here the brand-new SE-NC31C-K noise canceling earbud stereo headphones.

According to Pioneer, their brand-new headphones are actually capable of delivering quite an impressive noise cancellation level, of up to 90% (measured at 300hz), which means that users won't have any problems listening to their favorite music without any interruptions from the outside noise.

This is possible due to the fact that the new stereo headphones from Pioneer come equipped with small microphones located in each of the two earpieces, whose purpose is to measure the low-frequency noise, then prompt them to generate an equal amplitude, opposite phase signal of the unwanted noise, thus canceling it.

The new earphones also offer a good level of comfort, given the fact that they come with a variety of interchangeable ear tips (XS, S, M and L sizes are available), while also sporting a 4.5-foot cord ending in an L-type 3.5mm audio plug, and requiring just a small amount of power for the noise-canceling system (a single AAA battery will last for up to 120 hours).

“It’s amazing how much more of your music can be heard through the SE-NC31C-K’s in environments such as airplanes, where there’s constant noise being produced around you,” said Chris Walker, director AV marketing and product planning for the home entertainment division of Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc., who also added that “our new SE-NC31C-K earbuds deliver an elevated music experience that you wouldn’t get out of typical in-ear headphones.”

Of course, the enhanced musical experience Pioneer's rep talked about does come at a price, because the Pioneer SE-NC31C-K noise-canceling headphones will be available at a suggested retail price of $99, which is not exactly a small sum to pay for a pair of such audio accessories.
