The past months have seen the rise of a fair number of headphones, and Pioneer has just made its contribution to this market by revealing the HDJ-500, a headset which seeks to fit every possible need of enthusiasts and, especially, DJs.

The new headphones that Pioneer introduced have not exactly become available, but they hope to prove appealing to their intended target consumer base through a solid combination of comfort, performance, aesthetics and, of course, price accessibility.

The HDJ-500, thus, boast a magnesium alloy structure, for high durability, while leather-enclosed urethane pads mold around the ears.

Mostly, the pads should fit perfectly and the rotating earpiece will likely prove to be another significant asset.

What's more, the headphones boast 40mm drivers, a sound output of 105 dB, an impedance of 45Ω and a frequency range of 5 to 28,000 Hz.

“For maximum flexibility during performances, the HDJ-500 features a rotating arm structure that allows the user to rotate the right earpiece forward and back by as much as 60 degrees,” the press release states.

“At that position, the flexible headband maintains enough side pressure to allow the DJ to listen to audio on just one side of the headphones,” the announcement added.

"With the popularity of DJing on the rise, we're excited to offer products like the new HDJ-500 at affordable price points so more people can take part in the art form,” said David Arevalo, senior marketing manager, Professional Sound and Visual Division for Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.

“The headphones are engineered to assist entry-level DJs with the mixing process by enhancing the low and mid frequencies of music," he went on to saying.

Pioneer's new product uses a gold-plated 3.5mm plug and should become available in November, in red and black versions, with a retail price of $125. A white model will debut in January.
