A new trend seems to be emerging in the Hi-Fi micro system world since, after Onkyo, Pioneers is the second manufacturer to add an iPhone dock to such a system, the X-HM50 just being released across Europe for all the iPhone loving audiophiles out there.

Available in a silver or black finish, the X-HM50 is said to feature an impressive sound quality thanks to its 2-way bass-reflex speakers that pack 120 mm woofers and 20 mm soft dome tweeters in order to deliver 50W of output per channel.

Furthermore, since the system comes with an Digital Direct Connection for iPhone or iPod, sound quality won't be altered in any way since Pioneer's solution skips the usual intermediate digital-to-analogue conversion steps.

This is true for audio as well as video content, the X-HM50 also featuring a composite video output that allows users to play back the video files stored on the iPhone on a large screen display.

Apart from the iPod docking station, the X-HM50 also comes with a CD player, FM/AM tuner, DAB Tuner with 40 presets, USB audio input and auxiliary input for connecting a wide range of portable devices.

"The new X-HM50 is designed to meet the needs of iPhone and iPod users as well as CD devotees who enjoy listening to their favourite music in outstanding quality at home.

Thanks to Pioneer's advanced sound concept, the space-saving system delivers room-filling hi-fi sound," explains Philippe Coppens, Manager, Pioneer Europe.

"Our engineers' design efforts resulted in a sophisticated blend of style and advanced technology that adds a touch of class to any interior and will delight the most discerning listeners," concluded the company's rep.

As far as pricing is concerned this will hit the streets at £299, the X-HM50 being available right now for purchase if you so desire. (via techdigest)
