14 DAY TRIAL // After various companies revealed their respective speakers and headphones for consumers, Pioneer is now catering to the needs of the professional market, bringing out two sets of high-end speakers known as S-DJ08 and S-DJ05.
Though speakers come in many shapes, sizes and performance capabilities, Pioneer tried to have its newest models rank quite high on all of those scales.
As such, it gave the S-DJ08 and S-DJ05 2-way speakers such things as a 2.5 cm soft dome tweeter and woofers of 8 inches for the former and 5 inches for the latter.
The newcomers also come with a bi-amp circuit that drives the woofer and tweeter separately, as well as a low resonance chimney-style heat sink.
What's more, the product easily connect to DJ equipment, portable devices and, of course, PCs thanks to the four types of inputs available (XLR, TRS and two RCA sets).
"Whether it's producing music at home, DJing or simply auditioning music, consumers will realize the high quality sound they're hearing out of these new Pioneer DJ speakers,” said David Arevalo, senior marketing manager, Professional Sound and Visual Division for Pioneer Electronics (USA).
“We've also added the ability for DJs and producers who have made a career of music performance and enabled them to make quick audio adjustments to volume, power, equalization and channel inputs via a really cool looking manual controller," he added.
It should probably be noted that pioneer's speakers have an included control accessory which allows one to manage volume, power and four switchable input channels.
As for the audio quality itself, it is sharpened thanks to the curved waveguide enclosure which increases the listening area.
This is achieved thanks to how it directs the soft-dome tweeter’s sound in a wider pattern, the rest of the audio quality being enabled by the 10 cm high-force magnets and the linear equalizer, which can adjust the low and high bands from -6 dB to +6 dB.
Both the S-DJ05 and S-DJ08 will start selling in January, 2011, for $899 and $1,199 and.
