The pink-themed Samsung Galaxy S II has been confirmed last month by a few UK-based major retailers, but the phone was expected to hit shelves in the week commencing February 13.

However, Carphone Warehouse has just put this one for sale for up to £479.95 (760 USD or 570 EUR) on PAYG (pay as you go). Customers also have the option to grab the pink Galaxy S II for free on a 24-month plan for at least £26 monthly.

Initially launched in South Korea, Samsung Galaxy S II in pink is available in Taiwan and Sweden as well. In fact, the UK is on a short list of countries where the pink-flavored Galaxy S II is available for purchase at the moment.

Other countries may receive it if Samsung decides the women-centric device can boost its profits, but the company has yet to unveil more info on this matter.

When it comes to specs sheet, the pink Galaxy S II doesn’t come up with anything new in comparison with white or black versions, which are widely spread on the market.

Expect this one to feature the same dual-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, as well as the same amount of memory: 16GB storage, 1GB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 8GB memory card included).

Although the Galaxy S II currently runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, Samsung already scheduled the smartphone for an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade in Q1 2012. In fact, Galaxy S II will be amongst the first Samsung devices to receive this update.

Other important specs of the popular Galaxy S II include an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, as well as TV-out (via MHL A/V link) and built-in GPS receiver.
