Phase One IQ250 has just been announced by the Danish high-end photographic equipment and software maker, and the first image sample shot with this amazing digital camera back has already surfaced on the web.

LuminousLandscape has performed a test with the new IQ250 digital back to see what the real advantages of having a CMOS sensor on a medium format camera system are. With CCD sensors it was almost impossible to get good image quality using any ISO value over ISO400 but, taking a look at the sample photo below, we notice that a CMOS sensor manages to handle noise very well even when used at ISO6,400.

The sample picture was shot with the Phase One IQ250 at the maximum ISO value with a 28mm lens at f/8. The image was processed using the latest version of Capture One with default settings and without applying any noise reduction or sharpening. Check out the photo gallery for 100% crops.
