For long, people knew him as that guy behind “Mysterious Girl” and Katie Price’s husband, but Peter Andre is bent on getting people to notice him for his own worth as well. Rod Stewart, Elton John and Robbie Williams were not big stars when they began their music career either, Andre tells The Sun, so he too is aiming for the stars – and, on his way there, he will also go past Williams.

Peter Andre is currently working on making his comeback, having already put out a first single and video off his first album in a very long time, with another track to hit airwaves precisely today. On this occasion, the singer would like to point out to skeptics and haters in general that he too has the same potential as Robbie Williams, a thing he plans on proving this fall when albums from both are coming out and he (Andre) will certainly win in the charts.

“When Elton [John], Rod [Stewart] and people like that were signed up they had seven-album deals. It will take me two or three credible albums to be mentioned in the same breath but that’s what I aspire to. I believe I can do what Robbie Williams did. People gave Robbie [expletive] for being the fat kid from Take That when he was doing ‘Freedom’.” Peter Andre says of the way people have reacted to news of his comeback, and especially of the heavy criticism he got for his intention.

“He felt how I feel now.” Andre adds. Yet, walking in Robbie’s shoes stirs no kind of sympathy in the one-time hitmaker, set as he is to literally crush Williams in the charts this fall, when their albums are coming out. “We’re going head-to-head. I don’t like losing. Robbie is a nice guy and I’ve always admired him.” Peter Andre adds of the one who unwillingly, and unknowingly too perhaps, became his music rival.

As some of you may remember, when word first got out of Peter Andre and Katie Price’s divorce, speculation had it that they were doing it as a publicity stunt meant to garner more attention for Price’s book and upcoming fashion line, and for Andre’s music album. Understandably, both denied the allegations at the time, with the singer continuing to say that the issues in his personal life have had nothing to do with his career plans.
