Twi-hards prepare: one of the most interesting and mediated scenes in the entire “Twilight” universe, as created by author Stephenie Meyer, is about to get even wilder than the wildest expectations – that is, if Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have their way.

Reports are now coming in that the two leads, who play vampire Edward Cullen and mortal-soon-to-be-vampire herself Bella Swan, are trying to force producers’ hand into giving their more onscreen time for the much talked about love scene

As any respectable “Twilight” fans must know, in the books, Meyer skips the entire scene in question, fast-forwarding to the next morning, when Edward wakes up covered in feathers and Bella in bruises.

Until now, it was believed the movie would do that same (i.e. skip the actual scene in order to stick to the former rating) but Pattinson and Stewart want more because they believe the story would be better if more is shown onscreen, HollywoodLife reports.

According to an insider speaking to OK! Magazine (granted, not the most reliable publication in the world), the two are sharing ideas with the producers and the director – but they might just be a tad too hot and could require censoring.

“Insiders say that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are so fired up about their love scenes that they are pushing for ‘tasteful but extremely [sensual] nudity!’” HL writes.

“According to OK! magazine, producers may have to censor some of the stars’ suggestions. The action may get so hot that the film may no longer get a PG-13 rating,” the report further notes.

As one inside source explains, the two want to “push the envelope” with their big love scene and will not listen to such “feeble” arguments like a higher, more restrictive rating.

Then again, the rating is precisely why the love scene presented itself like such a huge challenge: if “Breaking Dawn Part 1” gets a PG-13 rating, this means a large chunk of the fanbase won’t even be allowed to see the film and that’s certainly a no-no for movie studio Summit Entertainment.
