It seems that this is the season for triple-channel memory module kits for Intel Core i7 processors. We've already learned about such products from A-Data, OCZ or Corsair, and now it’s time for Patriot Memory to join the party. On Thursday, the memory maker announced that it would roll out triple-channel modules for Intel's upcoming processors. The company also said that, since three channels meant a lot of bandwidth, it would focus on lowering the latency settings of its DDR3 kits.

Patriot announced that it was planning to launch an extensive family of enthusiast- and gamer-oriented Viper memory module kits for the upcoming Intel Core i7 processors. The new modules will also target a range of price and performance points.

Basically, there will be two memory module kits, the Patriot Viper PC3-12800 and Patriot Viper PC3-10666. Both versions will come in two models, one featuring low-latency, while the other will feature enhanced-latency. Also, these triple-channel kits will come in 3GB or 6GB flavors. The Patriot Viper PC3-12800 modules, either 3GB or 6GB, will feature a 1600MHz speed, while the Patriot Viper PC3-10666 flavors will come at a 1333MHz speed.

The company did not reveal the voltage these kits would be running at. What it did say, however, was that the Viper series of triple-channel kits would come packed with Intel’s newest XMP (extreme memory profiles) settings for the Core i7 processor based platforms. The XMP settings are meant to provide users with easy and simple overclocking on Intel’s X58 Express chipsets.

The memory modules maker also announced that it would offer a 3GB and 6GB PC3-10666 1333MHz CL9 triple-channel kit targeted at the entry-level. This kit is designed to meet the needs of consumers seeking cost-effective memory solutions for Intel’s new platform.

As noted above, so far, Patriot has refrained from disclosing any pricing information on the newly announced products.
