Earlier this month, Corsair was rumored to be working on the development and planning the release of a new range of DDR3 memory kits that would support Intel's upcoming Core i7 processors, as they would be ready for triple-channel memory configurations. As it turns out, the company, which is among the leading vendors of flash memory products, has just unveiled its new range of DDR3 memory kits, designed for high-performance computing based on Intel's next-generation desktop processors.

“Corsair is famous for producing cutting-edge products for new platforms,” said Senior Director of Engineering at Corsair, Martin Mueller. “With the Core i7 processor’s new triple-channel memory controller, memory bandwidth is more important than ever, and Corsair goes above and beyond the minimum requirements and delivers real performance gains with a wide range of products.”

Given that they have been designed for high-performance, the new DDR3 memory kits from Corsair will be made available in triple memory packs, each of them reflecting a new level of performance. These will be offered with speeds of 1333MHz, 1600MHz and 1866MHz. Each memory speed will be enabled on kits of three 1GB or 2GB modules for a total of 3GB or 6GB of memory.

The 1600MHz and 1866MHz DDR3 memory kits feature the highest performance memory technology and the company's Dual-Path Heath Exchange (DHX) cooling solution, for maximum reliability and performance. These memory speeds will only be available for the company's DOMINATOR range of products.

While Corsair did specify the pricing details of its latest memory products, it has remained mum on the question of the latency levels of these new Core i7-ready memory kits. You will be able to get the non-DOMINATOR memory modules in both 3GB and 6GB kits for $120 and $230, respectively. Meanwhile, the higher-performance DOMINATOR range is priced between $175 to $475, depending on speed and capacity.
