Over the past year or so, Panasonic has been one of the most important backers of the whole 3D trend, the company launching not only a complete lineup of Full HD 3D plasma display solutions, but also the world's first ever consumer-oriented 3D camcorder and a special lens dedicated to turning the Lumix G-system cameras into full-fledged 3D digital imagers. And now, the Japanese company is back with yet another 3D- related offering, this time, however, to its PDP (plasma display) lineup, Panasonic making available a huge, 103-inch, Full HD and 3D-capable model, the TH-P103MT2. Building large, “ultra-widescreen” plasma displays is one of Panasonic's signature habits, but this new display solution with am 103-inch diagonal size (2.61 meters) takes it all to a new level, especially since it's capable of displaying 3D images, when paired with suitable content and glasses, of course. And speaking of 3D, Panasonic points out that their solution reduces cross-talk as much as possible, delivering a clean, realistic and crisp feeling of depth. This behemoth of a 3D display supports 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (Full HD) resolution, delivers an impressive contrast, namely 5,000,000:1 and a 226.9 x 127.6 x 260.3 cm active screen size, and also comes packed with all the pre-requisite connectivity options. Given the diagonal size, it should come as no surprise that this thing is quite large (241.2 x 174.8 x 87.1cm, with stand) and very heavy (up to 321 kilos, stand included), while the power consumption level is also quite “monstrous”, as it's rated at roughly 1350W. As expected, the price tag for Panasonic's TH-P103MT2 103-inch Full HD 3D plasma display is actually extremely high, the device selling for around 8.5 million yen (or roughly 100,000 US dollars) starting tommorrow, customers getting for this very large amount a Pedestal Set, 3D glasses, remote controls, batteries, power cord and instruction manual.
