There are only a few people around the world who know exactly when the upcoming Palm Pre will become available on the market, yet there are many who hope it won't be too long before that happens, and a long list of rumors regarding the possible launch date of the device has been cycling the web lately, converging in the end towards a single possible release day, supposedly June 7.

All that has been known until now about the launch is that it should take place in the first half of the year, yet, according to the latest news on the web, we might find out when the Pre will come to the market as soon as next week, as Sprint, the first mobile phone operator in the world to release the device on its airwaves, and Palm are reported to make a big announcement in the Wall Street Journal on May 19.

On the other hand, the wireless carrier is also expected to make the device available for pre-order long before the actual release date, and we might learn on May 19 that those eagerly waiting for the Pre will be able to order it in advance with the operator. In case BGR is right, something connected to Pre will happen on that day, and more details on the phone will become available.

And while waiting for May 19 to see whether or not Pre enthusiasts will queue in early June to purchase their handset, we should take a look at some more details on what the phone will come with to the market. Most of its functionalities and features have been unveiled already, including the support for YouTube or the multitasking capabilities, and now we learn that it should also include on-screen icons for quick access to the Pre NASCAR app, YouTube, App Catalog, Documents to Go, Adobe Reader, and a generic "Sprint" app that might be some sort of an Account management application.

Undoubtedly, there are more goodies to come along with the Pre once it is available for purchase, whenever that will happen. Hopefully, Sprint and Palm will indeed announce the handset's availability on May 19, so that they would make at least the guy from the video below happy. And his mother.
