Fixes the calendar bug

Sunnyvale-based mobile phone maker Palm has just released a new software update for the owners of a Palm Pre or Palm Pixi smartphone one Sprint's network. The new software solution, webOS 1.3.5.1 has been delivered roughly one week after the webOS 1.3.5 was pushed on users' devices, and is said to come along with a fix for their calendar issue.

“Calendar - This release fixes an issue in which the Calendar app displayed no events for any account after a user synchronized Calendar with an Exchange account. With this update, Calendar events now appear correctly after an Exchange sync,” is what the release notes for webOS 1.3.5.1 on Palm's support website state.

Unlike the previously released webOS 1.3.5 software update, the new webOS 1.3.5.1 does not bring anything else new. Its only purpose seems to be that of fixing the critical bug that made all calendar events disappear as soon as a user performed a syncing to an Exchange account. However, since the bug needed to be fixed as soon as possible, it is understandable why no additional features were included with it.

The webOS 1.3.5 update, as most of you might already know, came to Palm Pre and Pixi devices on Sprint's network starting with December 28 last year. There were a great deal of new features included with that software solution, not to mention a quite important one, namely the fact that it enabled the owners of a webOS handset to take advantage of “the full storage capacity of the phone for downloading applications.”

A long list of other enhancements and fixes was there, and all of them were meant to improve the overall user experience one can receive from a webOS-based handset. With the new fix already in place, Palm shows that it maintains its focus on the development of the platform, and that it is also concerned with the experience users receive from the OS.
