14 DAY TRIAL // The PlayStation Portable handheld from Sony and the Square Enix made Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep - Final Mix are the two products that have topped the Japanese video game oriented charts, according to information delivered by sales tracking firm Media Create.
The PSP has managed to see an increase in devices sold during a seven-day period just as almost all other platforms have went down, with sales reaching 35,636 coming from 29,806.
Second place also went to Sony, with the PlayStation 3 home console edging out the Wii from Nintendo, selling 23,792 units, which is close to 10,000 less than during the previous week.
The Wii also registered a sharp drop, going from 21,291 devices moved to gamers to 14,547, while the DSi LL version of the company's handheld has posted sales of 11,720 units, a decrease of close to 6,000 over the previous week.
The DSi is one position down in fifth place, with sales that have gone down to 8,990 from 13,416, followed by the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, a platform that has only lost about 300 devices in sales.
The DS Lite managed to sell better than the PlayStation 2 and the PSP Go.
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep - Final Mix, a reworked version of the original PlayStation Portable title, created by Square Enix, has some additional content and English voice work.
The game managed to sell 77,317 in its first week on sale, which is a good number but nothing close to the numbers posted by Monster Hunter or Pokemon games.
Monster Hunter Freedom 3 from Capcom, also for the PSP, has managed to take second place, with 43,196 copies moved to gamers.
Donkey Kong Country Returns from Nintendo for the Wii has sold 20,411 copies.
Monster Busters: Powered from Namco Bandai for the DS is another new entry that performed well, with sales of 19,989 in its first week.
The rest of the top ten includes: AKB1/48: If I loved an Idol, Ni no Kuni: The Ebony Wizard, Inazuma Eleven 3: World Challenge!! The Ogre, Pokemon Black and White, Wii Party and Venus & Braves: Majo no Megami to Horobi no Yogen.
