Even though NVIDIA has still not made the formal introduction of its GeForce GTX 580, some of its partners are less fettered by deadlines, as is proven by PNY, whose model has begun to sell through Newegg.

As end-users probably know by now, NVIDIA should launch the GeForce GTX 580 later today.

While this should mean that its various partners are supposed to wait for this official announcement, there are already several exceptions to this rule.

For one, Gigabyte seems to have already unveiled its stock-clocked version, one dubbed GV-N580D5-15I-B.

It is interesting to note that CyberPower and Maingear have also updated their gaming PC lineup to include the possibility of adding one or more GTX 580 cards.

Now, the string of companies that made their announcements ahead of time has grown by one member, PNY Technologies to be exact.

What PNY did, as is revealed by a certain online retailer, is start selling the VCGGTX580XPB.

This card is a stock-clocked GeForce GTX 580, which means that the GF110 graphics processing unit operates at a frequency of 772 MHz.

Being faithful to the reference specifications also implies that the shaders, 512 CUDA cores to be exact, work at 1,544 MHz.

Furthermore, the 1,536 MB of GDDR5 VRAM have a clock speed of 4,008 MHz and are backed up by an interface of 384 bits.

Other specifications include support for the CUDA, SLI and PhysX technologies, plus multiple video outputs (dual-DVI and mini HDMI).

The listing on Newegg can be found here, where the PNY GTX 580 is priced at $589.99, which is a fair bit over the MSRP of $499 that NVIDIA has in mind.

The price may or may not drop once the card becomes official and the rest of NVIDIA's manufacturing partners start releasing their own versions and competing for real.
