Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 title pioneers a brand new feature called Teammate Control, which allows players that are already controlling one character to shape the actions of another one while still making sure that the first one doesn't lose the ball.

While EA Sports' FIFA series has always reached record breaking sales, Konami's PES franchise is also quite popular with the football (aka soccer) fans, largely because of its advancements in gameplay and mechanics.

Now, with the upcoming PES 2012 title, Konami is set to include an innovative Teammate Control feature which gives players the ability to control secondary characters while still making sure that their main one is in possession.

Check out how the new features works below, as highlighted by Konami.

"The Teammate Control system works in two ways, with users pressing the right analogue stick in the direction of the player they wish to control. The Assisted mode allows the user to activate a second player by depressing the R3 button, and allows users to get to grips with the greater level of control via effective running movements."

"Greater control is offered by the Manual mode, wherein the user has complete freedom of movement of the second player, and can make shuttle runs, find space, and shake off markers before calling for the pass from the player still with the ball. The player will then revert to computer control when the R3 button is released, and can also be used to override any AI runs the player wants to cancel. Both can be affected at any time, so players can make moves without waiting for a pass to be completed."

What's more, Konami also says that major improvements were made to many aspects of PES 2012, including the Active AI system, which ensures defensive players track attacking ones more effectively but without sticking to them wherever they go on the pitch, while attackers can use feints and tricks to get past their opponents.

Shooting has also been enhanced, with new elements being taken into account, while penalty kicks are being reverted to an over the shoulder view. Reaction times have been improved in all areas, according to Konami, as PES 2012 will deliver a seamless experience.

Besides this, the new title marks the return of the Challenge Training mode, which sees players go through a series of tests to perfect their skills while unlocking various rewards.

PES 2012 is set to appear for the PC, PlayStation 3, PSP, PlayStation 2, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii this fall.
