Compatible with all devices running Android 2.2 and higher

PDFTron has just announced the availability of PDFNet Mobile SDK for Android devices, which allows developers to manipulate, view, annotate and create PDF documents.

In addition to Android compatibility, the new mobile software development toolkit (SDK) offers full support for iOS devices.

According to the developer, the newly announced SDK brings the full advantages of the PDFNet PDF library, a highly acclaimed PDF engine treasured by millions of users, to iOS and Android platform devs.

With the new PDFNet Mobile PDF SDK, devs will be able to take advantage of a complex PDF engine, which is optimized to offer high quality and quick document rendering and processing, regradless of the hardware configuration of the devices used.

We’re excited to bring complete PDF processing support for Android and iOS to the market. Many of our existing PDFNet customers have been looking to extend their applications to mobile devices, and with the explosion in interest for PDF support in various mobile solutions, we’ve been urged by many to release PDF SDKs for Android and iOS,” said Catherine Andersz, Director of Business Development, PDFTron.

PDFNet Mobile SDK provides devs with access to built-in user controls for advanced features, including full text selection and search, along with support for bookmarks, links, as well as various manipulation and annotations capabilities that makes PDF mark-up much easier.

It is also worth mentioning that the SDK offers devs interactive support for text highlighting, underline, strikeout, squiggly, line, rectangle, ellipse, arrow, sticky note, along with free-hand tool mode.

All widgest are customizable and allows devs to modify their source code to further improve the aspect the widgets and the user's experience.

We’ve worked closely with a large number of companies throughout the beta program and really listened to customer needs,” added Andersz.

PDFNet Mobile PDF SDK is only available for download directly from PDFTron's website, but developers can ask for a trial version before purchasing the application.
