PC World recently conducted a 3G comparison on the network market in the US, and found that Sprint's network was the most reliable compared to AT&T and Verizon's in 6 cities in the country. As many of you might already know, the carrier claims that its network is the “most dependable 3G network” in the US, and it seems that PC World's 3G comparison test comes to sustain this.

The test took place in March and April this year in 13 of the major cities in the country, and it measured download speed, upload speed and reliability. While in some of the markets Sprint's network proved to be the fastest one when it came to the download or upload rates it offered (Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle or San Jose), in others it proved to be the most reliable one or was on par with Verizon's network.

The tests were performed in Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Denver, New Orleans, New York City, Orlando (Florida), Phoenix, Portland (Oregon), San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, and Seattle. Sprint's network proved the most reliable one in Boston, Chicago, Denver, Portland, San Francisco and Seattle. At the same time, the network was on par with Verizon's when it came to reliability in Orlando and San Diego, and proved to be superior to AT&T's in all 13 markets.

According to the wireless carrier, the PC World results prove that it is committed to delivering network performance to its customers and that its networks are currently better than ever. A J.D. Power and Associates study also shows that Sprint offers the “highest call quality performance among wireless cell phone users in the West region,” the operator says. In addition, it also notes that it expects to launch its next-generation 4G networks in several markets this year, after already launching them in Baltimore in 2008.

Sprint customers also enjoy the best value in the industry with a dynamic suite of Everything plans that allow customers to use their phones the way they want without worrying about their wireless bills. For example, Sprint’s Simply Everything plan provides unlimited nationwide calling, texting, email, Web browsing, GPS navigation and much more for only $99.99 per month. That’s a savings of $1,200 over the course of two years vs. a comparable AT&T iPhone plan,” the carrier adds.
