BlackBerry Tour, Inferno Curve and LG LX290 make their way into Sprint's offering
BlackBerry Tour, Inferno Curve and LG LX290 make their way into Sprint's offering

Sprint was rather busy this weekend, and came towards its users with three new mobile phones, namely the already announced and expected BlackBerry Tour 9630, the Inferno variant of BlackBerry Curve 8330, and the entry-level LG LX290. All in all, these are not too bad additions to the carrier's lineup, though we're pretty sure that the Tour will prove the most successful.

And, since it is new and has been expected to reach the market for quite some time now, we should start by saying that the Tour 9630 comes forth with a tri-mode CDMA EVDO Rev. A/quadband GSM/EDGE/single-band HSPA radio, while also sporting an HVGA display, as well as a built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS support, 256 MB of RAM and 192 MB of ROM, a 528 MHz Qualcomm chipset, a 3.2-megapixel camera with video recorder and flash, as well as a microSDHC memory card slot for additional storage space.

The BlackBerry Curve 8330 that comes in the new Inferno color scheme features the same capabilities as the rest of the models in the series, including EVDO Rev 0, the speakerphone, the media player and a QVGA display. Moreover, the handset also sports a Bluetooth connectivity, a QWERTY keyboard, an HTML browser, MMS support, and a microSD expansion slot for additional storage. Basically, the only change that it brings is the orange color that the mobile phone carrier calls Inferno.

The last new device added to Sprint's offering is the LG LX290, which comes to the market with a display that boasts a QVGA resolution, a Bluetooth connectivity, speaker-independent voice dialing/voice control, a speakerphone and GPS receiver. At the same time, the device also includes support for the Sprint One Click user interface, the Sprint Mobile Email Work and Mobile Email Work Calendar, although it will only fit into the operator's low-end phone category.

When it comes to costs, the BlackBerry Tour comes with a price tag of $199.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the carrier and after an additional $100 mail-in rebate, while the BlackBerry Curve goes for $149.99 with the same contractual conditions and MIR. Lastly, the LG LX290 will cost users only $29.99 after the signing of the required two-year deal with the operator and after a $50 mail-in rebate.
