Using the Unreal Editor, gamers will be able to develop their own maps

It's official, PC gamers, Gears of War for PC has gone gold. Microsoft Game Studios themselves have recently made the big announcement, also confirming that the game is set to hit store shelves on the 9th of November. And something every fan should know is that the PC version features new content and achievements to unlock.

PC gamers can consider themselves twice as lucky as they get to choose between using mouse=and=keyboard controls, or "the Windows-enabled Xbox 360 controller," according to Microsoft Games Studios. As mentioned above, in addition to retaining all of the content from its Xbox 360 counterpart and all previously released downloadable content (a total of seven multiplayer maps and the Annex game mode), the PC version of Gears of War will feature "original content, all-new Achievements to unlock, and ultra-high resolution visuals," as the official report confirms.

Epic Games has previously confirmed that Gears of War for PC will tap into the power of Games for Windows LIVE to deliver online matchmaking for its Gold account members. According to the E3 fact sheet for the game's PC version, the service will enable gamers around the world to connect via their PCs, allowing them to experience individualized matchmaking, view player statistics, earn player Achievements, customize games and create personalized profiles.

Oh and don't forget about the game editor enabling you to develop as many levels as you like, using the Unreal Editor, which guarantees new user-generated content for the future of the Gears of War community. Using the new engine, players can even import custom artwork into the engine, create particle systems, scripted encounters, cinematics and more.

But if you're a fan, you probably already know all these small details and just need more solid information like the game's price for instance. Well, MS Games Studios says you'll be able to pick it up for ?34.99. The BBFC has given Gears of War for PC an 18 rating.
