Reality star Heidi Montag is believed to have gone under the knife to get more publicity. Judging by how she’s being thrashed in the US media, chances are this was far from the publicity she was looking for. After claiming she was “addicted” to plastic surgery and going back on her words, and doing a series of interviews to reveal her new and “upgraded” self, Montag comes now under heavy fire from the very surgeon who worked on her, as Access Hollywood informs.

In one of her many recent interviews, the 23-year-old star says she “almost died” the day when she had to undergo 10 procedures in one single day. The surgeon who operated her, Dr. Frank Ryan, is now speaking to the media to clear up his name which, incidentally or not, also means revealing how big of a liar she is. For one, Heidi not once came close to dying. Secondly, she had more than just 10 interventions – more like 30, and they weren’t all done in the same day.

“I almost died after my procedure. I had too much Demerol like Michael Jackson did and my breathing was five breaths per minute which is like almost dead. [I was] in an aftercare center, there were nurses that were supposed to be tending to me at all times,” Heidi said earlier this week. Wherever she got that information, Dr. Ryan says, she got it wrong. “That didn’t happen as far as I know,” the surgeon adds. Moreover, she didn’t have just 10 procedures, but more.

“I really call it 30 surgeries because if we’re gonna count Botox injections we should count every single injection, and both breasts, not just you know so it’s two surgeries. Why say 10 surgeries? It sells magazines,” Dr. Ryan says. At the same time, the surgeon insists that Heidi is telling the truth and she’s really not addicted to cosmetic surgery: if she was, he wouldn’t have operated her. “Oh, it’s not that I don’t think, I know [she’s not]. I mean again I do not, would never in a million years, and did not and would not operate on someone who’s addicted to plastic surgery,” he further explains.

Dr. Ryan mentions that his own reputation is also at stake, which is another reason why he wouldn’t have worked on Heidi if he knew she had certain issues. After all, he knew from the start that she would be selling her story to the media, so it would have been foolish of him to take such risks.
