High expectations from Codemasters

Almost all games nowadays tend to depict the same old good-versus-evil fight, with the actions of the war culminating with the victory of the former, led, of course, by you, the main character. But recently we have seen a lot of titles that gave the player the ability to choose what kind of behavior he wants, whether to be good, and help the needy, or evil, and bend everyone to his will.

One such title was Overlord which was released by Codemasters. The game won over a lot of fans due to its amusing gameplay and unique twist on archetypes of medieval fairy tales, with the story penned by British Writers Guild member Rhianna Pratchett. Now, as we have just heard that in June three more Overlord-branded titles will appear, Dean Scott, the associate producer for Overlord Dark Legend, the Wii exclusive title, has spoken about the future title.

Scott reveals that he is very confident in the upcoming game, and that it “blows away just about everything else” that has appeared on Nintendo's console. Quite a bold claim, but it seems that he and the team at Codemasters have very high expectations from the title that will have the evil Overlord, along with his trusty minions, embark on new adventures.

“Overlord Dark Legend looks amazing,” said Scott. “When people see this game in motion, they are going to be seriously impressed. It sounds like such a lame cliché to say 'it looks like the 360 version', but that's true. Not exactly, but it's closer than we ever imagined possible on the platform. Of course we've made some changes to get that level of fidelity on the Wii, but the guys at Climax have been very clever with it. In terms of looks, it blows away just about everything else I've seen on Wii.”

So there you have it, among the three titles that will be appearing in June, Overlord Dark Legend won't disappoint users and will guarantee a great experience.
