Be the most evil Overlord you can be

Video games have adopted almost the same kind of recipe as a lot of fairy tales, which is the fight between good and evil, with the triumph of the forces of good over the latter. Either you're saving the world from evil aliens or struggling to foil the plans of a diabolic mastermind, you're always on the good side of things.

But Codemasters decided to switch roles with the Overlord video games, which featured you as an evil Overlord that needed to extend his influence with the help of his demonic minions. Needless to say, the game was extremely funny and well balanced, featuring some really interesting decisions, which impacted how the game played out. You could either be normally evil and influence people, or very evil and even end their lives.

The company announced some time ago that three new titles in the series, Overlord II, a fully-fledged sequel, Overlord Dark Legend, a title for the Wii, and Overlord Minions, a DS-exclusive, would appear. Now, the UK-based company decided to shed some light on the projects and reveal the month when we could get our dose of diabolic fun, which is June.

Set for the Xbox 360, PlayStation and PC, Overlord II is still in development at Triumph Studios, the creators of the first one, and will place an all-new Overlord against the Glorious Empire, which must be defeated to increase the evil influence. Dark Legend on the other hand, will feature a younger Overlord, which needs to protect his castle and domain from the forces of good, and will employ extensive use of the Wii Remote, which can even help you turn your minions into small-time bombs by grabbing and shaking them.

Last but not least, Overlord Minions, will tell the story of an elite minion squad, composed of Giblet, Blaze, Stench, and Zap, which will need to be guided by the Overlord in order to defeat enemies and solve puzzles, which are part of diabolical plans.

Look forward to these games in June, until then, we can still manifest our evil tendency in the first game, available for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
