The Academy Awards came and went but that’s not to say stars have already put an end to the festivities, as the after-parties are still in full swing. One of them is the Vanity Fair party, which took place shortly after the Oscars and where female stars continued to strut their stuff on the red carpet in fabulous style.

Katy Perry, for instance, though known for her sweet, vintage style, is perfectly able to rock a fab gown on the red carpet at such a prestigious event as the Oscars, even if it’s just an after-party. The singer arrived at the Hollywood’s Sunset Tower accompanied by her fiancé, Russell Brand, and decked in a truly stunning, gold-and-red Zuhair Marad gown, with H. Stern jewels, a Judith Leiber clutch and Jimmy Choo shoes. With her hair worn naturally and very little makeup, Perry was the epitome of grace.

The same also goes for Kate Beckinsale, who is usually an extraordinarily charming presence on the red carpet. Wearing an off-the-shoulder, shiny, silver toga, Kate accessorized with Neil Lane diamond earrings, an oversized diamond cocktail ring and her usually brilliant smile. This being a rather casual event, in comparison with the Oscars before it, the “Underworld” star also wore her hair on her back, with just some curls added for more effect and volume.

Cameron Diaz, earlier that night wearing a creation from Oscar de la Renta’s Fall 2010 collection, also chose a warm color, in sparkly gold. As opposed to the heavy design she wore to the Oscars, for the Vanity Fair party, the star chose to be practical in a tight pencil skirt and matching asymmetrical top. She accessorized with black, stylish pumps and a rather oversized, black clutch.

Jennifer Lopez and Jessica Simpson were the ladies in black at the party hosted by editor Graydon Carter. JLo chose Gucci, a silk, belted drape gown with a fancy detail on one shoulder, black ostrich feather, and a cut-out design on the other side. Simpson went for something more dramatic by its simplicity: a one-shoulder, black gown, which also came complete with pockets. For contrast, Jessica added a diamond and platinum brooch by Neil Lane and, of course, a small clutch.
