Wireless carrier Orange UK announced today the launch of new ‘Connected Laptops’ and new dongles for its consumer and SME business customers. All of the new devices are available for purchase with one of the company's broadband plans, which haven't been changed as a result of the new launches, and deliver 500MB, 1GB, 3GB or 10GB per month options.

The new ‘Connected Laptops’ that Orange users can purchase are the Asus 1005HGO and the Compaq CQ61, both of which come to the market with Microsoft's Windows 7 operating system pre-loaded. According to the company, the new devices are aimed at offering customers new ways of staying connected when they need it, no matter whether they want to work or play.

Here's what the carrier has to say about the new laptops - The Asus 1005HGO with embedded SIM card which is exclusive to Orange. Weighing just 1.27kg, this laptop comes equipped with Windows 7 Starter, a webcam and features a compact 10.1” screen. This small, light-weight laptop is perfect for people that travel or work remotely. - The Compaq CQ61 with Orange e1752 dongle comes with Windows 7 Home Premium and features a 15.6” screen. It also has a web cam and DVD player.

Those who would like to purchase one of the new laptops will be able to do so by choosing from 18 or 24 month tariffs, that start at £25 per month and go to up to £40 per month. The plans includes 1GB, 3GB, or 5GB data traffic and are aimed at offering users features like choice, flexibility, and great value for money. Moreover, the carrier also added that users would be able to connect the new devices to its 3G network that covers more than 93 percent of the UK population.

“These new mobile broadband devices provide both our consumers and small and medium-sized business customers with the latest technology and best value for money. We will continue to build on these offerings throughout 2010 to ensure our customers benefit from one of the most competitive product portfolios in the UK,” said Francois Mahieu, Director of Devices, Orange UK.

There are also two new dongles that Orange has just added to its offering, namely the Orange e1752 dongle, available only with a selection of Orange’s mobile broadband packages, Option 515M, and Orange exclusive device. The latter, adds the carrier, comes to the market with a free 8GB Micro SD memory card included and can be purchased for only £20 with almost all Orange mobile broadband price plans.
