The biggest communications company in the UK has just got a name: Everything Everywhere. Resulting from the merger of Orange UK and T-Mobile UK, the new wireless carrier will enjoy a customer base of around 30 million people, 18,242 million of which are prepaid customers, while 11,196 million are contract customers (based on market figures correct as of March 31, 2010).

Together, we are Britain’s biggest communications company, with over 30 million customers. We are on the verge of a communications revolution. Up until a few years ago, mobile was just about voice and text – not now. Multimedia phones have already started to change the way our customers access the world – for entertainment, education, information – wherever they are, whenever they want,” Tom Alexander, chief executive of Everything Everywhere.

Everything Everywhere aims at creating the biggest mobile network in the UK. The networks of Orange and T-Mobile will be combined in a single infrastructure, duplication will be cut out, and a single super-network is to be created in the process. Customers will thus benefit from expanded coverage on a bigger network, the two companies announced, adding that the number of stations and sites is set to be reduced. Later this year, Orange and T-Mobile customers will be able to roam from a network to another, the duo continued.

Orange and T-Mobile have more than 700 stores on the British high street at the moment, and the new company will focus on boosting sales too, it seems. Everything Everywhere also aims at offering the best services to its customers and intends to move beyond mobile communications, in an attempt to generate new revenue streams. The company is led by Tom Alexander, chief executive, and Richard Moat, chief financial officer and deputy chief executive.

Tom Alexander continued stating that, “through our scale and Britain’s only super-network with its unsurpassed coverage and capacity, we will be leading this revolution, giving customers instant access to everything, everywhere. We are Everything Everywhere – it’s our name, our vision, and our ambition – and we run two of the UK’s biggest brands Orange and T-Mobile. It’s our vision to give our customers instant access to everything everywhere, opening up a world of endless possibilities.”
