14 DAY TRIAL // At the beginning of the year, singer Cheryl Cole of the Girls Aloud was dragged into a scandal of huge proportions as several women went to the British tabloids to speak of their affairs with her husband, football star Ashley Cole. Since then, Cheryl has announced separation from Ashley but has not yet moved forward with the divorce. And she should, collaborator and friend Will.I.Am says in not so many words in a new interview cited by Contact Music.
The bottom line is that only a stupid, crazy man could ever dream of cheating on a woman like Cheryl. Not only is she absolutely breathtakingly beautiful, a thing the latest issue of FHM also agrees to, naming her the hottest female celebrity of 2010, but she’s also the kind of girl who never “flaunts” it, a hardworking woman who would never cause a ruckus just to get her name in the media. Truly, these are qualities not many other female stars have, so all the worse for Ashley for cheating on her, Will.I.Am says.
“I just still can’t believe Cheryl was ever cheated on. I mean, what has to be going through your head to cheat on Cheryl? She’s the most beautiful woman in the world. Once you have her, a man can’t do any better. It’s just crazy. She ain’t even the sort of girl that’s out there flaunting it or anything like that, she’s a real good girl. When you get a girl like that, you do everything you can to keep her, you don’t go out fooling around,” Will.I.Am says, no doubt voicing what many others thought when the cheating scandal first broke.
Luckily, Cheryl has good friends such as him to count on. “To get a girl that knows how to conduct herself is a rare thing and you’ve got to be stupid to jeopardize that. After all she’s been through, she needs rescuing. It’s crazy the way she was treated and she knows I’m here whenever she needs me. If she’s in New York, I’ll get on a flight to see her, if she’s in Los Angeles, I’ll get on a flight to see her – I’ll even come to London. If she needs me she knows I’m there, no excuses,” he adds.
Cheryl Cole and Will.I.Am go some time back, as he helped her launch her solo career in the US, after she topped charts back home in the UK with her debut solo album.
