13:03. Ok, Gran Turismo 5 is not the kind of game which you can just pop into the PlayStation 3 and go on to play.

It's also hard to accurately judge in one hour.

First you need to make sure the console is connected to the Internet and then download and install the 1.01 patch for the game.

Then it's recommenced that you install about 8 GB of Gran Turismo 5 game data on the internal hard drive so make the game perform better.

The initial estimation says the process will take 20 minutes but it's better to plan for about 40 minutes of file copying and another few minutes of small adjustments before the game launches.

Let's says that all of this only took 5 minutes.

13:08. The production values on GT5 look impressive and the introductory movie is an early sign of the quality, despite its slightly noir soundtrack for the first few minutes.

13:15 This is a huge game, with the first look at the first set of menus showing how many events are simulated and included.

13:17. Do yourself a favor and first hit the Options tab and remap the buttons on your controller to make more sense than the standard set up.

13:33. In every racing game the Shelby Cobra is one of the cars I itch to use and in GT5 I tried out the car in the Arcade mode, which allows for choice when it comes to the cars and the tracks, with both driving assists turned all the way up and with them all but eliminated.

And one could almost say that GT5 is two or more games rolled into one, with the Shelby almost behaving with all the assists on, although with a few over jealous drifts on my part, while with all aids off I barely managed to get out of the first corner.

13:51. The initial install was not enough, with GT5 delivering more information to the harddrive when accessing new events or taking a closer look at Premium cars.
