As the “Twilight” madness continues to sweep the world, work on “New Moon” goes on as scheduled, save for a couple of minor interruptions. As a matter of fact, on set photos just surfaced on the Internet, showing that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are back in front of the cameras as Edward and Bella.

For once since work on “New Moon” started, the photos just made public do not come accompanied by a story or a rumor of an on-set affair or jealousy fit. However, they still make the delight of millions of fans worldwide, who can hardly wait for the release of the movie to see the pair that has written a page in history, both in their hearts and at the box-office – and especially Pattinson, whose online fanbase seems to be expanding by the minute.

Speaking of the online community of fans, it was precisely them who started a petition asking to have the actor as a host on Saturday Night Live. While the petition did generate plenty of interest (as does anything having to do with the 22-year-old British heartthrob, it has been said) and even the SNL boss acknowledged it, fans did not get to see their wish come true on account of the fact that the entire season is booked. The next season might bring Robert on SNL though, SNL head Lorne Michaels said.

“Just Imagine the Skit Possibilities! We, the loyal fans of Twilight and Robert Pattinson petition NBC and Lorne Michaels for a special Twilight show with Robert Pattinson as host. Spunk Ransom’s innately quirky sense of humor and acting abilities make him a perfect host candidate. Combine that with the LEGION of fans thirsting for more Twilight (who have broken viewing records for the movie trailers) and success is assured. Also, the movie soundtrack provides a selection for musical guests. Sign the petition for Twilight on SNL and help spread the word. For more information on how you can help go to twilightonsnl.blogspot.com!” the petition trying to get Pattinson on SNL read. Even if the first attempt failed, the petition is still making the rounds.

Until that happens, fans should keep on the lookout for more details on “New Moon,” which is scheduled for release on November 20. At the same time, they can catch up with a non-vampire Pattinson in the British indie flick “How To Be,” which is currently making the festival circuit, looking for a distributor.
