Do you fancy huge, high definition battles in a multi 3D environment game and, overall, some hardcore action? In this case, you should know that Omega Five is the game you're looking for. And you don't have to look too much, since it will be released on Xbox Live Arcade on the 9th of January, for 800 Microsoft Points. The game is developed by Natsume and published by Hudson.

This new original IP is distinct from other games from the genre because players can choose from multiple humanoid characters (even though, in my opinion, Ruby looks more like a fairy). Each character has, as expected, unique and special attacks, as well as upgradable weapons, which can be shot in 360 degrees mode. And those who like to play this kind of games together with a friend will be really happy to hear that Omega Five includes a local co-op mode.

If our words don't seem to be enough, here's what John Greiner, President and CEO of Hudson Entertainment, thinks about this game: ""Hudson is truly pleased to be working with Natsume on bringing an all new franchise to shooter fans worldwide. Omega Five promises to be the most challenging shooter in the Xbox LIVE Arcade library, and will appease the most hardcore fan of the genre."

The characters you will be able to control during your adventure are: The Tempest, a hulking, four-armed alien that closely resembles a human, though. He has a thick skin that makes him very resistant to enemy hordes and, as weapons, he uses Volcanic Fire, Corrosive Acid or Molten Metal. Another character, Ruby, the under-dressed warrior that, I must repeat, looks like a fairy, uses the Volcan Laser Fire, Reflecting Laser Beam or the Lightning Gun. Sensei is an unlockable character that needs no guns, but is a master of the katana and other martial-arts related stuff. Finally, the last playable character is R.A.D., a girl who has a skintight suit and is always ready for some action. Every character has, alternate and unique attacks, they are all able to teleport to another dimension for a short time (which allows them to regain health) and... other things you'd be more than happy to discover for yourself.

So get your 800 MS Points ready and don't forget: Omega Five launches on Xbox Live Arcade on the 9th of January.
