Nippon camera and optics manufacturer Olympus has finally announced today the new entry-level OM-D E-M10 mirrorless camera as well as its first 50x superzoom bridge and a new Stylus Tough rugged compact camera, the TG-850.

Along with these three new cameras, Olympus also revealed the previously leaked 25mm f/1.8 optic, 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 pancake lens, and 9mm f/8 fisheye body cap. Moreover, the company introduced a few new accessories, including a quick-release ECG-1 camera grip for the E-M10, a macro converter, and the auto opening lens cap we were talking about a few days ago.

The M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 25mm F1.8 is a new MFT (Micro Four Thirds) lens that has a 35mm equivalent of 50mm and a bright aperture value of f/1.8, making it perfect for low-light shooting sessions and artistic portraits.

The lens construction features 9 elements in 7 groups, including 2 aspherical lenses designed to reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations to a minimum. M.ZUIKO 25mm f/1.8 has a minimum focusing distance of 25cm (9.84in) and weighs only 137g / 5oz. The optic is now available for pre-order at a price of $399.99 / €293.

M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 EZ is the second lens announced by Olympus and comes with a 35mm equivalent focal length of 28-84mm, weighs 93g / 3oz and is only 22.5mm / 0.9in thick.

The new 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 pancake lens construction features 8 elements in 7 groups, including one Super HR lens, one ED lens, and three aspherical elements for improved contrast and sharpness. This lens is also compatible with the optional automatic opening lens cap that opens and closes automatically when turning the camera on or off.

The M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 EZ is now available for pre-order at a price of $349 / €256, while the automatic opening lens cap is sold separately for $50 / €37.

All the accessories announced along with these two lenses are now available for pre-order at select retailers around the world and will start shipping on February 12.
