Olympus OM-D E-M10 has been the subject of lots of rumors and leaks over the last few months and, today, the Nippon manufacturer officially unveiled it. Although we know quite a lot about the new Olympus entry-level mirrorless camera, let's see what you can really expect from the E-M10 model.

Olympus E-M10 is an MFT (Micro Four Thirds) mirrorless camera that comes equipped with a 16.1MP Live MOS image sensor, the same as the one found in the E-M5, as well as a True Pic VII processor with a high ISO sensitivity of up to ISO25,600.

Unlike its pricier siblings (E-M1 and E-M5), which feature 5-axis image stabilization, the E-M10 comes with only a 3-axis stabilization system that compensates 3 types of movement (yaw, pitch, and roll).

The camera is also capable of capturing 1080p Full HD video footage at 30 frames per second with stereo sound using either .MOV or .AVI formats. Olympus E-M10 comes with an 81-point AF system and can capture up to 8 frames per second in burst shooting mode with a 3.5fps ratio using AF tracking.

In addition to that, Olympus' latest entry-level mirrorless model features 1.44M-dot EVF (electronic viewfinder) that has a 100 percent coverage, 120fps refresh rate, 0.007 lag time, and 1.15x magnification (0.58x 35mm equivalent).

The E-M10 is the first OM-D mirrorless camera to come with a built-in pop-up flash capable of up to 1/250 of a second synchronization. Moreover, the E-M10 features a 3-inch, 1.037M-dot tiltable touchscreen LCD with 100% coverage of the scene.

Another useful feature that comes with the E-M10 is the built-in Wi-Fi, which allows you to connect with up to four devices at the same time by simply scanning a QR code displayed on the LCD screen. One of the important features that previous model had and you won't find in Olympus E-M10 is weather sealing, so keep that in mind if you are planning to use your camera in harsh weather conditions.

Olympus OM-D E-M10 Silver and Black versions are now available for pre-order at a price of $699 / €512 for body only and $799 / €585 for the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 14-42 mm f3.5-5.6 II R lens kit. A double zoom kit with the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 EZ and M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 40-150mm F4.0-5.6 R lenses will also be available for purchase.

Although the official press release states that the Silver version comes late February and the Black version arrives in March, AmazonUS lists both models with a February 12 shipping date.
