Former Australian deputy Prime Minister Tim Fischer has made a statement after news broke of the death of an Australian student being killed in Oklahoma by “bored” teens.

As I wrote previously, three teenagers have been charged in the murder of 23-year-old Christopher Lane, who was studying in the States under a baseball scholarship.

One of the students that were in the car when he was shot in the back has told the Duncan police about killing the man out of boredom.

“It could have been anybody — it was such a random act,” Captain Jay Evans says, as relayed by Fox 2 Now.

Fischer is warning Australian tourists about the threat that visiting the US poses. Apparently, they are 15 times more likely to be shot in the States than in Australia.
