As the world is preparing for the release of Adam Lambert’s debut album, “For Your Entertainment,” the American Idol runner-up has been quietly getting ready for the launch of the official video for “Time for Miracles,” his contribution to the “2012” soundtrack that was released a few days ago.

The video, as expected, was created in such a way so as to mirror some of the mayhem we’re to see in the doomsday movie that drops this November. Lambert’s video too was supposed to arrive at a much later date, ahead of “Michael Jackson’s This Is It” docu-film, they say, but some modifications had to be made, presumably in light of the aforementioned leak. Not that fans or critics are complaining, for that matter: if “Time for Miracles” showed that Lambert was ready to conquer the world with his music, the video only brings confirmation that he has all that it takes to be the next hot rock star.

Comparisons between Adam and Queen’s Freddie Mercury are not scarce, and they’ll probably multiply once the video reaches all media outlets, some say. Adam Lambert is not a product of the giant pop machine that has given us the likes of NSYNC and Britney Spears, he’s the closest thing we’ve got to a rock star, complete with brilliant vocals and the kind of image that transcends genres, genders, and basically most limits and limitations.

“We want it to match how epic the film is. We want the song to really reach out and grab people by the heart. So, it’s definitely the focus [of the song].” Lambert was saying a while back about how “Time for Miracles” became what it was at the moment. Said and done. Understandably, the video for such a powerful song also had to rise to the same standards, for which reason Adam had to recreate some scenes from the film with the help of many extras and a green screen.

“There were a ton of extras on the set. What they were doing is they were staging scenes reminiscent of what happens in ‘2012.’ That was pretty wild, to try to stay focused on the song while that was happening. But we had fun. It was a good day.” Lambert said of the shooting process, as cited by AceShowbiz. A good day indeed it was, because critics and fans agree that the vid is nothing short of stunning, a hit in the true sense of the word. Below is the full video for “Time for Miracles,” watch it and judge for yourselves whether all the brouhaha is justified or not.
