Obopay announced the launch of its mobile payment service on Amp'd Mobile devices.

"Mobile payments has long been the next big thing in mobile, and now it's finally here for busyconsumers who are always on the go," said Carol Realini, CEO and founder of Obopay. "With Obopay on Amp'd, mobile consumers can use their money in many powerful new ways, whether it's instantly paying or getting money from a friend, parents quickly sending their kids money when they need it most, or buying goods and services at virtually any retail outlet in the U.S."

The Obopay is an easy and secure way for customers to get, send and spend money using their mobile phones. The service allows users to send money to any mobile phone number and instantly receive money from any Obopay user. The service comes with an Obopay companion prepaid debit MasterCard that lets users conduct retail transactions at more than 5.5 million retail locations and 396,000 ATMs in the U.S., using their Obopay account funds. Users can also check balances, get money owed from other mobile users and view transaction histories.

"The launch of the Obopay mobile payments service represents what our customers are looking for when they sign up with Amp'd-cutting edge technology and applications that power their mobile lifestyle," said Peter Adderton, CEO of Amp'd Mobile. "We're excited to be the first mobile network to deliver this valuable service."

Amp'd features Obopay's mobile payments service on their home page where visitors can sign up and receive a $25 bonus in the newly created Obopay account.
