BBE Sound, a developer of sound technologies for the professional audio and consumer electronic markets, announced that the first BBE M3 enabled mobile phone is now available in Japan.

The W43K handset is manufactured by Kyocera Corporation and is sold through one of Japan's service providers "au". The mobile phone features BBE's M3 technology within the phone's HE-AAC music player. BBE M3 is an audio post processing technology specifically designed for the mobile phone market which improves the sound quality of any audio format, including digitally compressed music.

"Kyocera and BBE Sound share a common goal of providing consumers with the technologies and products that greatly enhance the quality of sound experienced by consumers," said David McLaren, executive vice president of BBE Sound. "We are pleased to partner with Kyocera on the first BBE M3 enabled mobile phone ever shipped. This marks an important milestone in BBE Sound's licensing business."

The BBE M3 is a combination of BBE Sound's core audio technologies: BBE High Definition Sound, BBE MP and BBE ViVA HD3D.
