14 DAY TRIAL // Leading handset vendor HTC Corporation and Telefónica announced today the exclusive availability of HTC Smart via O2 in Germany, Ireland and the United Kingdom. The new device comes to the market as an affordable and easy-to-use smartphone that brings widgets, browsing and connectivity at a low cost, and will become available for purchase on the carrier's airwaves in April.

The new HTC Smart sports Qualcomm’s Brew Mobile Platform (Brew MP), an operating system that offers it the possibility to come with HTC's Sense solution for an affordable, enhanced mobile experience. The Brew MP platform also opens a new era of mass-market smartphones, and enables the use of new applications and services from software developers all around the world.
The HTC Sense solution is a design philosophy from HTC that puts people in the center through making the use of mobile phones much simpler than before. The HTC Smart comes with a compact touch design, while also integrating the base of HTC Sense - Make It Mine, Stay Close and Discover the Unexpected. Users will enjoy the possibility to customize the device for a personal experience through a wide range of widgets for quick access to contacts, photos, music, weather and more.
“People are able to follow their friends’ status updates using HTC Friend Stream, an application that seamlessly aggregates all of your social communication including Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr into one organised flow of updates. The HTC Smart is expected to become available in Germany, Ireland and the UK in April, exclusively via O2, and will also land in Italy via Telecom Italia, in Norway at Netcom, and in other European countries through the direct channel.
