Well of course, you don't reckon they'd develop one for the PS2, did you?

You know how these third-party peripheral makers jump in to save the day when the console manufacturer neglects its customers right? Well, we can't really say that Nintendo is neglecting its customers (they might be neglecting their roots though), but Nyko's Wireless Nunchuck Controller for Wii sure makes a good point.

Now don't think that Nyko's release of the superb peripheral you see to the left (click to enlarge) was done without Nintendo's consent. It's not only Nintendo that trusts Nyko with peripherals for their machine, but Microsoft and Sony too, for their respective consoles.

The Wireless Nunchuck from Nyko was revealed just a few days ago to IGN. The website posted a few images of the peripheral and so thanks to them, we are able to share it with you. According to the same source, details are pretty scarce as far as the Wireless Nunchuck goes, but this much we know: it uses 2.4-GHz wireless frequency to communicate with the Wii Remote, which, needs a receiver module plugged/jacked into its usual Nunchuck port.

As a Wii owner, don't even dare not to admit it was necessary for someone to roll out the Wireless Nunchuck controller. Everyone's up and down about the Wii's motion sensitive features and wireless play, yet a game like Metroid Prime 3: Corruption will have you strangling yourselves with the controller if the on-screen action gets too intense.

More than that, now you can hold each arm wherever you want during gameplay, allowing for more comfortable positions. Well, not that the wired Nunchuck doesn't allow a gamer to play in a relaxed manner, but who knows when you'll need to hold one hand on the sofa and one on the floor, right?

Remember to check out images of the Wireless Nunchuck controller to the top left side of this piece and stay tuned for updates, such as price and features, because Nyko is launching it officially at CES next month.
