Novatel has recently announced that its new MiFi 4082 Mobile Hotspot is available for purchase via Comcast.

Re-branded as Xfinity Internet2go, the MiFi mobile hotspot is commercially available through Comcast's website for a $25 one-time fee with a qualifying Xfinity Internet 2go service plan.

The new MiFi 4082 delivers 4G speeds and complements Comcast's broad connectivity and entertainment offering perfectly, providing innovative services not only for the home but now also on-the-go.”

Novatel's MiFi 4082 Mobile Hotspot is one of the latest devices included in the award-winning MiFi family of products that have been especially designed to bring 4G WiMAX to customers with smartphones that support the Wi-Fi hotspot feature with connectivity for up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices.

The MiFi 4082 comes preloaded with MiFi OS, widgets and application support. In addition, it features an external e-Ink display with status indicators for battery, signal strength and number of connected devices.

The device also features shared storage capability through a microSD slot with up to 32GB.

According to Novatel, the MiFi 4082 Mobile Hotspot doesn't require any cables or software installation for Wi-Fi connection.

Furthermore, it supports Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating systems and is powered by a standard 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery that should provide up to four hours of usage or up to 60 hours of standby time.

The hotspot is sleek and small, about the size of a credit card and weighs only 85g (battery included).

Although the device is available for only $25, the monthly plan costs about $40 per month for the first 12 months, after which it goes to $55 per month.
