With a lot of game tweaks

The Trophy craze is now spreading from PlayStation 3 AAA boxed titles, like Warhawk and BioShock, to the smaller PlayStation Network titles, which seek to rekindle the interest of players by adding shiny new Trophies which they can hang in Home when it eventually gets released. The latest game announced to get an update with new offerings is arcade shooter Novastrike.

The update is not only concerned with the PlayStation 3 response to Achievements on the Xbox 360, but also changes some elements of the game experience. Music is now customizable by the players, through the newly introduced in game XMB of the gaming consoles. The controls will also be fully customizable so that players will be able to adjust the control scheme they use for the best possible performance.

The gamer can get 12 Bronze and four Silver Trophies and the developers say that most of them will be pretty accessible to experienced players while a few will prove to be very elusive. It remains to be seen whether the changes listed will draw players to the game, especially as it seems that no Gold or Platinum Trophy is on offers.

The overall difficulty of the game also seems to have been toned down, mainly because of players' complaints that some levels were down right impossible to beat. Only the Hardcore setting retains its degree of difficulty because it was originally designed to make the game a challenge for even the best players.

It also appears that Novastrike is on its way to the European audience as well, after being the exclusive domain of American gamers since its June PlayStation Network release. The developers say that they are now working with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe on the port of the game and will have news on the subject very soon.
